Located down past the gym, Kappa rarely plays host to any notable social functions, but they do enjoy dieting. Dartmouth guys, on the other hand, called it “really easy,” “extremely easy,” and “not hard at all” to get into frat parties both before rush, and post-rush at houses that aren’t their own. They have increasingly focused their efforts on fraternities. This fraternity was founded at Dartmouth College, in 1842, through the efforts of C. B. Haddock, then a professor in the college. Overall from our own experiences and from these responses, we feel like Dartmouth frat parties, are, in fact, more open than frat parties at other schools. SAE, the inspiration for Omega in Animal House, is well-heeled, to say the least–they have trust funds and are not afraid to use them. While each chapter’s reputation in generally different depending on which school they belong to, we think this gives a solid overall picture of where these sororities stand across the country The first such society at Dartmouth, the Social Friends, was formed in 1783.
